IT Help Center to highlight popular topics, offer new way to search for answers

The IT Help Center at it.wvu.edu/help is getting a refresh on Sunday (May 19) that will let faculty, staff and students find technical support information by topic in addition to the standard search bar.

  • Free pumpkin seeds available from WVU Extension

    Free pumpkin seeds are available at more than 70 local libraries throughout West Virginia, thanks to the Grow This: West Virginia Garden Challenge from the WVU Extension Family Nutrition Program. According to this year’s WVU Extension Garden Calendar, May 23 is the first day to plant pumpkin seeds in the Mountain State.

  • WVU students awarded Critical Language Scholarships

    James Campbell and Felicia Carrara received scholarships to spend eight weeks abroad studying Arabic and Russian, respectively. Their selection marks the 14th consecutive year one or more WVU students have been awarded the competitive scholarship. The scholarship program seeks to expand the number of Americans studying languages that are essential for the United States’ engagement with the world.

  • Compensation team provides information on changes to U.S. Department of Labor Fair Labor Standards Act

    On April 23, the U.S. Department of Labor announced updates to the Fair Labor Standards Act to increase the salary test for exempt employees (i.e., those not eligible for overtime). Effective July 1, the rule increases the salary threshold from $684 per week or $35,568 annually to $844 per week or $43,888 annually.

  • Steam outages planned for Morgantown Campus

    To accommodate annual enhancements, repairs and testing to the University’s steam infrastructure, the Facilities Management team is working with the steam provider for WVU on the following three planned steam outages for Evansdale, Health Sciences and Downtown.

  • FSAP Support Squad Book Club to discuss ‘The Dance of Anger’

    The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program invites faculty, staff and students to read “The Dance of Anger,” an international bestseller by Harriet Lerner that highlights the importance of listening to our emotions to help move us towards change and to identify unhelpful patterns in relationships.

  • WVRHC hosts open house for ‘Women Making History’

    The West Virginia and Regional History Center extends an open invitation to help commemorate the closing of “Women Making History: Showcasing the West Virginia Feminist Activist Collection” from 2-4 p.m. tomorrow (May 17).

  • MCHD seeking community input through survey, town hall meetings

    Two town hall meetings have been planned to allow community members to provide feedback, ask questions and learn more about the Monongalia County Health Department. The meetings will be held from 6-7 p.m. today (May 15) at the Morgantown High School Library and Thursday (May 16) in the Clay-Battelle High School Auditorium.

  • Hazing Prevention Advocacy Network Trainings offered

    The WVU Hazing Prevention Task Force invites faculty, staff, students, families and community members to learn how to identify, prevent and report acts of hazing at WVU. In-person and virtual training sessions are available.

  • Purpose Center to host ‘All 34 Strengths Training Workshop’

    Faculty and staff are invited to dig deeper into all 34 CliftonStrengths® to help build better partnerships with teammates and understand different communications and conflict-resolution perspectives from 3-4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23, on Zoom.

  • Microlearning Monday highlights wellbeing

    The WVU Talent and Culture Leadership and Organizational Development team invites employees to enroll in the Microlearning Monday series “4 Self-Care Practices You Can Do Today to Prevent Burnout” this month to help discover strategies to enhance overall well-being.
