UPDATE: All clear issued after gas leak leads to precautionary evacuation at WVU HSC-North

West Virginia University issued a WVU Alert Thursday (May 9) announcing the evacuation of Health Sciences Center-North following a localized gas leak. Employees, students and others were allowed to return to the building after 11 a.m.

  • WVU alumna awarded Rangel Fellowship to pursue foreign service career

    Alumna and global citizen Giana Loretta is a recipient of the prestigious Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Graduate Fellowship. The Shinnston native is the second WVU alumnus to secure a Rangel Fellowship, which provides up to $42,000 annually for two years to students who plan to earn master’s degrees and begin careers in the foreign service.

  • Reminder for registering international travel issued

    All faculty or staff who are traveling internationally for a University-related purpose or taking University-owned equipment or personal equipment with a University program, including email, abroad on personal travel must register their travel.

  • ‘Small yet fierce’ WVU Press enters 25th year with new talent to continue legacy of excellence

    Recognized as “small yet fierce” by Raj Tawney of NBC News, the WVU Press is pleased to welcome the following to its editorial team: Kristen Bettcher, managing editor; Marguerite Avery, editorial director; and Catherine Venable Moore, editor-at-large.

  • WVU Police to hold on-campus training exercises

    As part of a commitment to foster a safe environment for the campus community, the WVU Police Department will hold on-campus training exercises on select days this month in the area of Arnold Hall and Apartments.

  • University Avenue closed tomorrow for GradFest

    A portion of University Avenue on the Downtown area of campus will be closed from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday (May 8) as graduating students enjoy GradFest outside the Mountainlair, Elizabeth Moore Hall and in Woodburn Circle.
